Yesterday, HRH the Prince of Ghassan has visited the Vicariate of Jordan of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem in Amman. The prince is very close friend of the new Vicar H.E. Monsignor William Shomali as he is with the Emeritus Archbishop of Jordan Monsignor Maroun Lahham since many years ago.
By a coincidence, it was Bishop Shomali’s 68th birthday and the Prince was invited to celebrate with him, some priests and nuns in an intimate traditional Jordanian luncheon.
Prince Gharios, as a knight of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, is committed with the Latin Patriarchate’s support. During the visit, the prince made a sizable donation of several items needed by the Vicariate, amongst them: a 60 inch plasma TV, a high definition projector, DVD player, Blue-ray player, an “all in one” printer, a 5.1 surround sound system, etc. many other items like books and clothes were donated, some of them being redirected to Caritas in Jordan.
