Above: decree with the signature of the President of the Lebanese Republic, recognizing the Imperial and Royal House of Ghassan and authorizing an official branch in Lebanon

Another historical moment for the Ghassanids all over the world. After three long years of a very bureaucratic process, The Imperial and Royal House of Ghassan is officially recognized by the Lebanese Government. Two documents, one the decree signed by the judge from the ministry of interior, and by the Lebanese President and Head of State, the Imperial and Royal House of Ghassan is fully recognized with the consent of the Council of Ministers and the permission for an official branch in Lebanon is granted. The recognition is on the same level of the order of Malta and the Red Cross.

Important to note that very few non-reigning Royal Houses are officially acknowledged by the governments currently ruling their previous territories, for example, the Royal Houses of Portugal and Albania.

  1. Dear Royal Highness,

I hope you are well! Are you in the USA or elsewhere? Christine and I achieved a lot in Gambia to prevent the introduction of sharia criminal law into the new constitution draft by gathering all churches (Catholic to Pentecostal) and than the next day moderating a meeting between and moderate Muslim leaders, perhaps the greatest success in our life in such a short period of three days. By God’s providence we got the last plane out of Banjul home to Brussels.

As it does not look as if can plan our journey to Lebanon, but Lebanon has its new government meanwhile, is there anything we can do anyway by Zoom or letters or else to get things concerning the Royal Academy going?

    Yours † Thomas
