Royal House of Ghassan signs historical humanitarian agreement with high Iraqi Muslim Foundation

As part of theAlliance for Peace” initiative, The Royal House of Ghassan, in its mission of promoting humanitarian cooperation and inter religious dialogue around the world, especially in the Middle East, has signed a historical cooperation agreement with the Door Reference Foundation from Iraq . The organization has authorization from the Iraqi government to develop humanitarian projects and also has a mandate from the highest Iraqi Shi’a Muslim authority. One of the major points for the agreement is the protection of Christian communities in Iraq.

HRH Prince Gharios El Chemor of Ghassan Al-Nu’man VIII head of the Royal House of Ghassan and His Excellency Sheikh Hussein Al-Ramahi, high Shi’a leader and Secretary General of the Al-Wafa’a Iraqi National Party, signed the cooperation agreement. However, from the Royal House’s side, the credit of this fantastic achievement goes to the team of the Royal House of Ghassan in Lebanon: Sheikh Dr Elie Gharios – President, Ms Joyce Mansour Doumit – Managing Director, Mr Petro Al Achkar – PR Manager and Dr Firas Kanj – Legal Director, who spent months negotiating with the Iraqi counterparts.

Prince Gharios El Chemor is the 1st Christian to receive high honor from Iraq

During the 1st Annual Royal Gala in Lebanon last Friday (May 18th), HRH Prince Gharios El Chemor of Ghassan Al-Nu’man VIII was the 1st Christian to receive “the shield” from the high Shi’a Muslim authority, represented by His Excellency Sheikh Hussein Al-Ramahi, notorious religious and political leader of Iraq.

Before the prince of Ghassan, the only recipients of the high honor were: the Iraqi Prime Minister, the Iraqi head of the Parliament and His Eminence Sheikh Massoudi, a prominent Iraqi religious leader.

According to Sheikh Al-Ramahi, the Prince has received this exclusive award due to his humanitarian work and his life commitment in having peace amongst the religions in the world, especially in the Middle East.

Prince Gharios El Chemor meets Japanese Ambassador in Lebanon

Last night, at the elegant Printania Palace Hotel, the Lions Club and the Rotary Club held an special event hosted by the Japanese Ambassador to Lebanon, His Excellency Matahiro Yamaguchi. HRH Prince Gharios El Chemor, Sheikh Dr Elie Gharios, the president of the Royal House of Ghassan in Lebanon and Ms Joyce Mansour Doumit, the Managing Director, were specially invited and met the Japanese Ambassador.

Prince Gharios El Chemor, a passionate studious of the Japanese Culture, was able to share martial arts experiences also engaging in some conversations in the Japanese language.

Royal House of Ghassan in Lebanon has its 1st Annual Gala Event

Last Friday, May 18th, The Royal House of Ghassan in Lebanon held its first annual dinner, under the patronage and presence of HRH Prince Gharios El Chemor of Ghassan Al-Nu’man VIII , at Le Maillon Club – Beirut.

Around 150 people attended the dinner from different professional backgrounds, coming from different Arab countries such Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Jordan.

The ceremony began with the welcoming speech of Prince Gharios El Chemor, who thanked the attendees for their presence, and stressed on the importance of the active role played by the Ghassanids in the history, by being a link between the Western world and the Arab world. Prince Gharios also shared about the role and services that the Royal House of Ghassan is doing today, through the interfaith, reconciliation and peace-building programs. The prince has also mentioned the importance of such event having together leaders and followers of several Christian denominations along with Shia and Sunni Muslims breaking bread together in a celebration of peace. Prince Gharios El Chemor finished his speech by paying an emotional tribute to the late HRH prince Sheikh Antonius El Chemor, father of HRH Prince Sheikh Selim and considered as the honorary co-founder of the modern Royal House of Ghassan.

Sheikh Dr. Elie Gharios, Chairman and CEO of the Royal House of Ghassan in Lebanon, delivered a speech on the history of the ancient Ghassanids people and their successes in many fields, pointing out on the importance of the qualities they enjoyed: Knighthood, generosity, progress and passion for development, as well as cultural and religious openness in the world.

After that, Ms. Joyce Mansour Doumit the Managing Director of the Royal House of Ghassan – Lebanon, invited the Lebanese and Arab personalities to receive the certificates of the Royal House in honor of their pioneering social and human successes. In her speech, Ms. Doumit referred to the committee formed by the members of the Royal House of Ghassan – HQ who selected to honor prominent figures in their leading role in society, in Lebanon and in the Arab world, by bestowing upon them the Order of Saint Michael Archangel, with the rank of knight and Dame.

His Royal Highness Prince Gharios El Chemor along with HH Sheikh Dr. Elie Gharios, and HRH Prince Sheikh Selim El Chemor delivered the honors.

Prince Gharios El Chemor visits the Vicar of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem in Jordan

Yesterday, HRH the Prince of Ghassan has visited the Vicariate of Jordan of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem in Amman. The prince is very close friend of the new Vicar H.E. Monsignor William Shomali as he is with the Emeritus Archbishop of Jordan Monsignor Maroun Lahham since many years ago.

By a coincidence, it was Bishop Shomali’s 68th birthday and the Prince was invited to celebrate with him, some priests and nuns in an intimate traditional Jordanian luncheon.

Prince Gharios, as a knight of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, is committed with the Latin Patriarchate’s support. During the visit, the prince made a sizable donation of several items needed by the Vicariate, amongst them: a 60 inch plasma TV, a high definition projector, DVD player, Blue-ray player, an “all in one” printer, a 5.1 surround sound system, etc. many other items like books and clothes were donated, some of them being redirected to Caritas in Jordan.

Prince Gharios El Chemor participates in event invited by Lebanese Government in Beirut

HRH Prince Gharios El Chemor of Ghassan Al-Nu’man VIII  has participated of the 5th edition of the LDE – Lebanese Diaspora Energy last Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

It was his 5th official invitation by the Lebanese Government, being three for the international events in Lebanon and two for the regional editions for North-America in NY and Las Vegas.

The event is by invitation only congregating VIPs having Lebanese descent from all over the world and it’s under the high patronage of the Lebanese President, His Excellency General Michel Aoun and it’s directly organized by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants under the guidance of its minister, His Excellency Gebran Bassil, the great man behind this fantastic initiative.

Prince Gharios El Chemor meets with a descendant of Confucius

The great Confucius (551–479 BC) was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher of the Spring and Autumn period of Chinese history. His philosophy, also known as Confucianism, emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity.

Yesterday, HRH Prince Gharios El Chemor met with Mr. David Kong, one of the well known descendants of the great Confucius and the vice-President of the Confucius international family organization, recognized by the government of China.

As a gift, the prince of Ghassan has received an autographed book about Confucius and a special liquor with the Confucius family brand.

The prince was very touched by the meeting since he’s a serious studious of Asian culture and philosophy for almost three decades, being requested to lecture all over the world since very young age.

HRH The Prince of Ghassan always defended that education was the only “medicine” able to “cure” almost all evils of Mankind. He even designed a strategy to prevent teenagers and youngsters to be recruited by radical organizations in the Middle East trough distance education.

Today, HRH was recognized by the Union University of Californiafor his commitment for Christian higher education and humanitarian development around the world”. The University was officially recognized in 1986 and was a pioneer in distance education also offering presencial courses having branches all over the world, the main ones being in the United States and Vietnam. The University is accredited by the DEAC. The presenters of the honor were Prof. Rev. Son Xuan Nguyen, Senior Vice President and Chief Operation Officer (COO) and the university’s founder, professor Ray Striler.
